An Adoption Journal on AdoptionJournals.org is the easiest way to get your friends and family involved in your adoption journey. In just a few minutes, you can have your own customized Journal that can display not only Journal entries, but photos and important dates too.
Create an Account
Click "join" to get started. We'll provide you with an account you can use to manage any Journals you create. Adoption Associates, Inc. clients must contact their international consultant to sign up.
Build your Journal
Upon activation, you are ready to make your Adoption Journal. You can choose a title that will appear at the top of every page of your Journal. Since all Journals are password-protected, you control who visits your Journal.
Choose a Theme
Each Journal can use a visual theme that is customized for the country you are adopting from. You can elect to change your theme at any time, even after you've been posting to your Journal! We are creating new themes all the time. Click here to look at the different themes!
Publish!
Creating Journal entries is easy. Just enter a title, create the entry body, and click "Save!" Advanced formatting options are available if you would like to create bold or italic text, or if you would like to link to another web page or include an image in your post.
Add Photos
You can upload photos to your Journal and associate them with an entry. They will appear in those entries, and also on a special photo album page.
Customize!
AdoptionJournals.org allows you to customize your Journal in countless ways. Each Journal page has a sidebar in which you can insert "infoboxes." Infoboxes allow you to add special functionality to your Journal. You can have a slideshow of your latest photos, a category archive for Journals with lots of posts, or a calendar that shows your important upcoming dates!
